]]> Mashed potatoes are a simple recipe that usually comes out good no matter how you make them. If you are looking to add a little twist to your recipe, this year you can try a caramelized onion mashed potatoes side dish that will leave everyone at your apartment ready for seconds and thirds. Here is a quick look at how to make them.

Boil two pounds of russet potatoes. Be sure to peel and chop them into large cubes before boiling. Once they are done–you’ll know, if you can easily pierce them with a fork–start to saute your white onions in olive oil in a low until for approximately 10 minutes or until they are caramelized. Now add in milk or heavy whipping cream, butter and seasoning to your potatoes and mash them to your favorite consistency. Next, mix in the onions and serve to your guest.

In this week’s blog we are going to focus on food (yes, we are a hungry bunch) because we have a list of three Marina del Rey restaurants that stay open until midnight or later.
