Halloween safety isn’t a fun or sexy topic. However, it's something that must be done in order to keep your kids safe. Ghouls and goblins aren’t the only thing that we should be afraid of on Halloween night. On coming traffic and motorist continue to be the biggest safety concern on the holiday. Here are a few safety tips to talk to your kids about before you go trick-or-treating.

Staying visible: to motorist is the key to being safe. The sun is starting to set earlier and earlier and by Halloween it will be dark by 6pm. Most people trick-or-treating at night, so be sure to help your kids remain visible. The easiest way is with reflective tape.
Watching for alleys: talk to your kids about using crosswalks and not running past alleyways. Most people will be rushing home from work trying to trick-or-treat with their kids and being stuck in traffic can lead to frustrated motorist.
Masks: do not let your kids trick-or-treat with masks. Placing an object over their heads will impact their visibility and can cause an accident. Talking to your children will only lead to creating a safe and fun Halloween. Happy trick-or-treating.
